Maclyn's birthday was while I was at church camp with the boys so we celebrated when we got home! Maclyn had multiple party theme ideas, but finally settled on a simple Mexican theme with a taco bar and a piƱata! She was good with that as long as she had some friends come! Lucky for her, she has a bunch of sweet friends! Maclyn was such a good girl...until she wasn't. We tried to sing the church camp version of Happy Birthday to her and she freaked out. And screamed at everyone to shut up. I sent her to her room, she refused to apologize, we cut the cake and tried again. She still was super ugly, so she went back to her room...and didn't get the first slice of her cake so she was angry about that too. The party pretty much ended there and the poor child didn't ever have a slice of her own birthday cake! I felt bad, but dang girl! No one likes to be screamed at! Oh well...live and learn! Don't sing any other version of Happy Birthday except the original.
