Oh me. We have hit 12 months (or 1 year...but for this blog's purpose, it is "only" 12 months)
It is bittersweet to me. This child is trying so hard to grow up. And on one hand I am okay with that. And I am also okay to be finishing up our Monthly Milestone blanket. It makes me a little sad, but it is a lot to remember to do! The on the other hand I kinda wanna cry every time I think about that she is finished with it. And that it seems like just yesterday Maclyn was born, but it was actually a year ago. (or...12 months)
At 12 months Maclyn is 30.5 inches tall and 22lbs 7 oz of pure sweetness. She is still not crawling but she butt-scoots very efficiently and gets around wherever she wants to go. (we actually "lost" her he other day in the house...only to find her in the dark in the boys' bathroom, between the toilet and the vanity. Ick.) She is also starting to pull up and is bearing weight well through her feet and accepting help to stand. she will not roll if you are watching, but we have seen her roll back to belly and belly to back when she is in her crib at naptime. She will roll onto her belly and then sit up, and has started pulling up on her crib rails. Her mattress was moved down today!
Maclyn absolutely loves her people. She especially loves to snuggle with her daddy. Of course, it has to be on her terms. If you can't tell from these pictures she knows her way into his heart and he is for sure wrapped around her little baby pinky finger!
Mac adores her reflection. She claps and tries to hug and kiss herself, and squeals with delight when placed in front of a mirror. It is the sweetest thing! And it never seems to get old to her (or me)!
Maclyn is sleeping well through the night (has been for several months). She goes to bed between 730-8 and wakes between 7-730 generally. She naps twice a day, morning and afternoon. Sometimes she will catnap in the evening, but generally only if I let her and know we are going to be up late for something. Maclyn has completely and independently weaned herself from day nursing sessions, and she is only taking breastmilk in a straw cup during the day. She nurses in the morning and nights only now. This is another bittersweet thing for me. I am ready to be free, but it will likely be the closing of a chapter. Breastfeeding has been the greatest thing I have ever done for another human being and I am so thankful for the ability to have provided that for all 3 of my babies, as well as the bond that it provided me with my children. It kind of hurts to think it is nearly completed. On the "solids" front, she pretty much eats everything we eat. Maclyn especially loves taco meat, hotdogs, greenbeans (which is funny because she hated it pureed), mangos, crackers, chocolate chip cookies.
Mac loves to play with her toys! She loves to play peek-a-boo and she loves to read. She will point to a book and say "book." She has also started reaching both hands out to people and waving her hands when she wants to be held. Mac loves to clap-clap and pat-pat, and she waves bye-bye from the wrist with an open hand. She LOVES a baby doll or stuffed animal and will hold it and snuggle it and pat-pat it. It is adorable! She is also a little ham and will crack up at the slightest thing. For instance, she was sitting in the hallway playing and Josh walked past her, she looked up at him and started laughing!
Mac still only has 2 bottom teeth...but those top two front teeth are literally poking through. I saw the white slivers in her gums tonight. She makes it super hard to look at her teeth and will pull her lips over her gums or keep her tongue against them, so you have to look when she's laughing or crying. Speaking of crying, she is pretty good at flip-flopping from one emotional extreme to the next...girl drama already?! She will cry at next to nothing..and tends to already get her feelings hurt! Whew-wee. We are in for it! All this to say, a little love goes a long way and despite her already girl-drama, she is easily pacified by her paci and/or some love. And her brothers do all they can to keep her happy. It is amazing what good big brothers they still are to her. No jealousy, no ugliness, just true love. They still fight over who gets to hug/kiss/hold her first!!

Happy 4th of July!
Happy 4th of July...a few days late!! Hahahaha! (At least I am still in the same month...) Our Independence Day celebrations spanned over the course of many days, starting the end of June with fireworks from a bay and us on the boat with friends (see previous post) to true day-of celebrating. I am not 100% sure on the exact day of some of these pictures, except for the Calvert City parade and fireworks celebration.
Out on the boat with these 3 cuties celebrating our Nation's independence! We actually had to outrun thunderstorms this day, so it was very interesting! After we decided to go back in we went to Billy and Chasity's for fireworks!
Josh worked the evening shift one night and one of our neighbors was setting off fireworks. Keagan was already in bed, but is such a light sleeper he came running out when he heard them start up. Maybe I should say the other two babies are heavy sleepers...the fireworks were literally right outside his bedroom window!! Keagan actually asked me if it was dinosaurs stomping outside, but then corrected himself by saying it wasn't possible because dinos are extinct! Funny kid! I really enjoyed some time with just Keag to snuggle on the front porch and watch fireworks and take selfies. I take a rotten selfie, but these are cute of my firstborn.
On the true 4th, we ended up at Calvert City with the Harrod and Malone families to watch the parade and fireworks. It was a great time and the fireworks were awesome.
Hard to believe this time last year I was preparing for the birth of my third baby!!!! (foreshadowing of my upcoming blog posts!)

Boat Days - Lazy Summer Days
Our summer has been such a blast, with every chance we get spent on the boat! I am still in awe of the fun we have been having and the memories that we have been making. The kids have thoroughly enjoyed every moment, and so have we. Every time we go out on the boat I snap a bunch of pictures...so this is a compilation of random pictures from our boat trips! I am sure they all look the same, but they don't to me! :)
The boys love having friends come play! Stacey and Annie came out on the boat with us one time!
Happy baby! There are a lot of these pictures...Maclyn literally just chills and plays with her toys when she isn't swimming or snoozing!!
Our very own private beach!!
Gourmet lunchable lunch on the boat!!
First nap on the boat!
We love running into friends!! Now that we know which friends have boats we make plans to meet out at certain areas of the lake! Keagan and Finn were thrilled to play with Nick and Tuck
What a long fun day on the boat will do to a boy. And yes, he was in the middle of eating pringles!
This sweet girl loves the boat! And she is getting better and better at letting us put on her life vest!
Every time she wears a different swimsuit I have to get a picture. Her swimsuit wardrobe is impressive and I am slightly jealous!!! I want to look so adorable in mine!!
We found another friend on the lake! Keagan and Dax hanging out on the tube!
More friends!!!!
Swimming in the ducky. This wasn't her fave...I didn't realize it at the time, but she really preferred to be IN the lake with everyone else. So we brought the baby ring float and she was happy!!
Tubing with Reagan!! This was their first time being pulled on the tube. They LOVED it and were kinda mad when we stopped!
Swimming in the pool at Billy and Chasity's after a day at the lake...why make the fun stop when we pull the boat in?!
A new swimsuit so another picture!
On our way to Hu-B's, a delicious and fun restaurant on Lake Barkley!
I try desperately to get a picture of all 3 of my kids...this is what I get:
Driving with Daddy on our way back from supper.
Finn was "shooting" birds with the water gun...but really just aiming!
A lot of geese!!!
Happy water baby!
Hanging out with Chasity!
All 3 kids asleep on the way to Hu-B's with the Harrods!
Sweet friends...Reagan and Keagan holding hands at the restaurant!
We love to swim and play in the lake!!!
One of my favorite pictures. I love when this baby snuggles her daddy.
Getting ready to watch fireworks from the boat with the Harrods and Malones!
Tubing fun with Maeci and some other friends! Finn's face cracks me up...and the other kids were super brave!
Silly girl....looking for something to drink I guess!
Three sweet friends!!! Nick, Keagan, and Maeci!
Cool dude.
Don't worry...this is only half of our summer. Hahaha!!
