Listen. I have 4 soccer players. All 4 have shown good skill and drive and ability. All 4 work hard and enjoy the sport. But no-one out hustles this little bitty girl. Ivy just wrapped up her last season of U6 rec soccer. She moves to U8 in the fall and will get to experience a goalie. This will cut down on her scored goals and probably force her to stay in position, but for her last season in "baby soccer" Ivy showed that she is no baby. Ivy had one objective: score goals. As many as possible. If she was throwing in, she threw in to herself so she could then run and get the ball to score. (you could see this strategy on her face) If she was asked to play defender, she obliged because once she got the ball from the opposing team she would take it all the way down and score. She obviously loved playing in a forward position because that is a goal scoring position. This girl knows the rules better, is more aggressive, and vastly out-plays her siblings when they were her age. She is hilarious to watch! And while some of this is going to have to be molded as she gets older, I love the drive that she exhibits on the field each and every game.
