Keagan and Finn had their dentist appointment a few weeks back and though Keagan is now an old pro, it was Finn's first real cleaning. We are super blessed that Josh's Aunt Janice is our hygienist so that helps any phobia they may have or may develop. Finn's only concern was did he have to have a shot (he had a bad experience at his 3 year well-check with getting his finer pricked). Keagan went first, and had his first x-rays. He had no cavities and had a great check-up! Finn watched and when it was his turn, he climbed right up in the chair and laid down like a big boy. He was super still (rare!) and did exactly what Aunt Janice told him to do.

Spooks of All Sizes
Have I mentioned ever that Halloween is one of my most very favorite holidays?! It is so much fun and without judgement or heightened expectation, and it is good for all ages. I don't like crazy scary stuff and do not go to haunted houses, but I do enjoy creepy decor about my house and scary little goblins running around. And I especially love a good Halloween party. This year I was "volunteered" to host our Halloween party again, and though our friends jokingly volunteered our house they knew I was excited and happy to do so! We decided to have our party on Halloween and let the kids trick-or-treat prior to the party. Unfortunately we were anticipating 100% rain leading up to the party so we were thrilled to get a break in the rain right as we headed out to trick-or-treat. We got in about an hour and that was good enough for the littles, then we headed back for chili dogs and cocktails, and a pinata for the kids!
Pictures of my decor. I am proud of the scene I create every year...it's always fun!
Stacey and Jarrett as Olive Oyl and Popeye
Us as Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World (Excellent!)
Shwing!
Paula and Paul as Mr. and Mr. Potato Head
Before we left with the kids for trick-or-treating we did pictures. I was not planning on posting more than one of the pics of the boys but then when I was going thru them I cracked up at Finn's facial expressions towards his brother's costume.
We then took a million pics of the three of these kids (tried to get Reagan in on the fun but she wasn't having it..) and finally got one that would work. We told Keagan to act dead, Annie to ride her horse, and Finn to show us his muscles. They did just that!
The Harrods showed up sans costumes again this year, but don't worry we made Billy wear the wiener costume that the Robinsons had in the back of their car. :) He was a good sport!
Chasity stayed back with little Abigail to pass out candy and the rest of us piled into the back of Billy's truck to trick-or-treat...this is what you have to do to get anywhere in my neighborhood, then park and walk in a small area. (For reference, our neighborhood is large, the houses are spread out, and it is where the rest of the town comes to trick-or-treat. As in, I have seen shirts that say they've survived trick-or-treating in our neighborhood!)
Our whole crew (minus Chasity and Abigail) out trick-or-treating!
We found Amber!! She and Scott and their boys ended up coming by later that night for some game time!
While we were out, Stacey snapped this picture of Keagan and his adult twin. Super scary!! A perfect match!
Back at the ranch... we ended up heading home pretty quickly in the rain and by the time we got back we were all wet and cold, so costumes and wigs were lost. But that didn't stop the party! I made these ghoulish cocktails that had a raspberry puree in the syringes that were supposed to look like blood, and then added a "bloody" fang ice cube to the drinks for an added touch. I had super high hopes for these but they were absolutely disgusting. I mean, we couldn't even choke them down! But they looked really cool.
The kids watching a movie while eating...I got a kick out of this because Annie is clinging to Keagan!!
Paul and Paula had to take their oldest child to a party and while they were out we decided to get the fog machine going. Paula hated the fog machine last year and it ended up getting thrown out the window! She was none too pleased when she walked back in, but took it in stride since we turned it off and opened a window! :) It makes for some fun pictures though.
Pinata time for the little ones! Don't worry, the big ones had to take a swing or 10, too. Very fun!
And just like that it is November!!! I am still having a hard time writing the correct year and we are about to change years again. Why does time have to fly?!! Another fun Halloween party in the books...and now we are ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
