Around the time Maclyn turned a year old we had family pictures made. I will be totally candid in that I spent very little time envisioning what I wanted and had only a week or so to coordinate outfits...and so I was super worried how it would all come together. And then during our session the boys were horrible. (this seems to be a trend...) The photographer was quick and didn't talk a whole lot, so I honestly had no idea what we were going to get. But in all honesty, these might be the best family pictures we have ever had taken. I am super impressed, and even more surprised, at how she took what seemed like an incredibly stressful session and turned it into a perfect looking family!!
I am obsessed. I have some gorgeous children if I do say so myself!! Thank you Kaylee of Kaylee Burgess Photography for getting such awesome pictures of my beautiful (albeit often a disaster) family!!!

Great Smokey Mountains (part 3)
The boys were absolutely dying to ride go-karts. The problem was they both wanted to drive their own instead of ride with a grown-up. Luckily we found a track that allowed both of them to drive on a junior track!!
Before we headed back home we stopped by The Island and let the kids play like ninja warriors for a little bit. We had gone by this carnival-like zone after supper the night before but a storm was brewing and the place quit selling tickets. We had two very disappointed little men. Luckily, they were open the next morning so we were able to make good on our promise to let them do more fun stuff.
Although the week started out pretty rough between a non-sleeping baby and two entitled little boys, our trip ended on a much better note. And the drive home was made fun with a stop to the Russell Stovers outlet where we purchased way too much discount chocolate and then gorged ourselves the entire drive!
