A few days after we returned home from our visit with Lindsy and Tim and fam, my Aunt Mickey and Aunt Angie (my mom's sisters) flew in from California to visit for the weekend!! We had a great time and tried to fit in as much as we could into their short time in Kentucky. The kids LOVED the visit from their Great Aunts...it didn't hurt that they came bearing gifts!!
While we drove around from place to place Maclyn decided to become a total diva. And she learned just how fun screaming for a cell phone could be, especially if said cell phone played music. And of course, Mac's great aunts indulged her!!
On the full day that we had with Aunt Mickey and Aunt Angie we took them out on the boat and showed them Kentucky Lake! They had a blast, and the kids absolutely loved having new water playmates. Then we boated over to Lake Barkley to eat at Hu-Bs and listen to some live music.
Aunt Mickey, Me, and Aunt Angie (in case you need introductions)
On their last day the Aunts requested Cracker Barrel for brunch! We love Cracker Barrel, but never imagined it was something people from California would want when there are other possible local options. But the CB doesn't exist on every interstate exit in Cali like it does in KY! So, we indulged them...and our kids loved it!!
Then we took them to Patti's 1880s settlement in Grand Rivers for some touristy shopping before heading to Paducah for FroYo before we had to say our goodbyes.
We had such a fun visit with my two crazy aunties!! They are always up for a good time and the kids loved the memories they made while Aunts Mickey and Angie were in Kentucky!
