Our visit with my parents was not long enough. It was hard for me to say goodbye, and the kids struggled too. We really enjoyed ourselves. This may have been the easiest-parenting visit I have had with the kids since they were tiny babies. The boys were well-behaved for the most part and Maclyn was a gem. She only had a couple minor issues that caused me some sleepless nights but was super go-with-the flow during the day.
Here are some random tidbit pictures I took! They are all really of my dad with his grandbabies. If you can't tell, or couldn't tell from previous posts, Maclyn and Grandpa share a bond. She was pretty content to just sit with him at his spot at the table. (She does this same thing with Josh's dad; just hangs out with him in his favorite chair. Pretty sweet.)
This is the first time Finley was brave enough to get all the way into the pool! And it was frigid!!
Grandpa flying a Millennium Falcon model with the boys.
The boys (and Clifford and Daddy) went flying with Grandpa one morning.

Old Moldy
Still in Texas...!
While we were in a go-go-go mode most of our trip to keep the kids entertained, we had a really nice relaxing lunch time trip on my parents pontoon boat! They have "lovingly" named their boat Old Moldy, because it is old and was moldy when they first got it. They have worked really hard to clean it up and it looked great and ran great and we all had a great time!
Grandpa and his girl.
I'd say Maclyn loves her Grandpa!
The boys got to drive...but neither really looked where they were going!
And then Maclyn fell asleep! We will take it!

MAGNOLIA!
Because we were in Waco for the zoo, Mom and I wanted to go to Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Silos. If you aren't familiar with what I am talking about, google it. Chip and Joanna are the hosts of the show Fixer Upper on HGTV and mom and I are both obsessed with the show, their style, and just them. The Silos are smack dab in the middle of Waco and so it was an easy transition from the zoo. Also, Josh and I were excited to grab something to eat from the food trucks on the grounds. One small problem: by the time we got there it was 2:30 or so and the food trucks were selling out and literally closing up as we walked up to order! I saw my grown man husband act like his 4 year old son when he doesn't get the food he wants...hangry. Luckily, he spotted a gourmet hotdog food truck and $10 later he had a glorified hotdog. Phew. Crisis averted.
We Are Here!!
Oh! If only I had an endless supply of money...! I could have bought out that whole store! It made me want to completely re-do my home, my furniture, my decorations. Everything. (once I came home reality set in) It was so fun to look at all of the neat stuff, and touch it, and dream! Mom and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. And Mac was a good baby just hanging out!
The boys waited out on the lawn in the bean bag chairs while the girls shopped.
My always-happy Maclyn. Even after a long day in the heat, this little trooper still laughed and smiled and was in good spirits!
