One day this summer I took off work and took the girls to MeeMee's and had all kinds of plans for "something fun" with the boys. There is a place called KY Shores that has all kinds of fun adventures, including GoKarts and the boys were both dying to go GoKart racing. So we got all ready and dropped the girls off then went to breakfast to begin planning our day. We got all hyped up about going to KY Shores since we had never been. But when we got there, BAM, we were told the GoKart track had to be repaved the day before and they were waiting for it to dry! So check back later and see if it is operational. Well, I called every couple of hours and it never did open that day. I had two very disappointed boys on my hands.
So, I tried to make things better on a whim by finding other stuff to do. We started in Aurora at an old fashioned soda tasting store. Then we got sno-cones while we brainstormed about our next adventure since my phone call to KY Shores about the track was met with disappointment. So we decided to just drive back that direction to see what we got into. As we were heading that general direction we stumbled upon (and I say it like that kind of tongue-in-cheek because these places are all in our town and all visible and easy-to-get-to, we just don't) a place called Forgotten Past. And Lo-and-Behold they had Go-Karts! And bumper cars! Oh boy! Keagan was big enough to drive himself, luckily. but Finn was not, and, as you can imagine, this caused a small issue. After the Go-Kart desire was out of their system, we still had some time left in our day so we decided to go to Maggie's and do the jungle run. And then with my remaining cash, the boys split nachos!
