Mr. Dramatic

Keagan told me a story tonight.  It was a drama with a bit of suspense, but it ended on a happy note.

Music Man

The other night, Keagan and I met our friends out at a free concert on the Benton square.  It was a wonderful time, the temperature was great, and Keagan thoroughly enjoyed himself!  He LOVED the music and was such a pleasant little man the whole evening.

Stacey and I showed up in the same outfit!  So funny!! (and we didn't shop together for it either!)

Rubber Duckie, You're the One!

This post is a little over-due.  I realized this as I was going through the latest pics that I added to my computer.  Oh well, such is the life of a mommy!  I had a few spare moments while Josh was loving on Keagan to type this out...I am going to spare you too much reading and just give you the pics, because I know that's all you care about! ;)   I am going to go in reverse order: latest pics first!
Keagan is 2 months old!
So he had his 2-month shots (ouch!)
At his two-month doctor's visit, we noticed he had a diaper rash.  Grandma's advice: let him go naked! (he LOVED it!! guess he felt free!)
Mommy loved it too--his bum is soo cute!

Bath time is fun for all involved...and can dry up his fussiness rather quickly (BONUS to getting clean!)
Daddy fed him his first bottle--and he loved it!!  Daddy enjoyed it, too! (We have since changed to Playtex bottles, which Keagan likes so much better than the one pictured here)  Oscar really likes the Boppy!
Keagan smiled his first smile at mommy at 7 weeks old, and I melted! (this is a reenactment)
We have had a bunch of visitors the past few weeks:
Great Aunt Pat
Great Uncle Steve, Great Aunt Lynn, and cousins Paige and Dallas
Ashley and her new baby boy, Jake (Jake and Keagan were due two days apart...of course, Keagan made an appearance a month early!)

At the end of the day, Keagan LOVES to put his jammie-jams on and snuggle with mommy (after some good old-fashioned playtime)
(not the best pic of me--it was a loooong day--but oh-so-sweet of my cuddle bug!)

Amazing Keagan Facts:
He now weights 9 pounds, 10 ounces and is 21.75 inches long (according to his Pediatrician).
He has a double/triple chin, and it is adorable!
He still cries A LOT! (but we are getting used to it..)
He sleeps well at night (6 solid hours last night!) but hates to take naps during the day...I wonder if this is my child!?
He has found his fist, and likes to look at it then suck on it.
He still won't really take a paci.
He is getting more tolerant of diaper changes.
He is smiling, when he isn't crying!
He continues to be quite the spitter-upper.
He LOVES his swing (and we love it too!!)

gathering over babies

A week ago my dear friend Lindsy met my baby boy for the first time!  She was not only wonderful company, but she was a huge help!  She made us several meals and even made some to freeze!!  Oh so yummy!  While she was here I also started jogging again, albeit slowly and not far.  We also met up with some old college buddies and their children (except Carrie, who doesn't have kids yet!).  It was funny to converse and gather over children rather gathering over adult beverages!  How funny are the changes that life brings about.

Jentrie with daughter Avery
Katie with daughter Carly
Kennedy LOVES columns!!
College buddies (minus Carrie) with our children!
Lindsy getting some little man love!
So sad to see Linds leave...wish they lived closer so our babies could get to know each other!

Some recent milestones a la Keagan:
He passed his hearing test! (YAY!  He had failed it while in the hospital).
He now weighs 8 lbs 6 ounces and is 20 inches long as of today.
He loves to stare into your eyes.
Diaper changes are getting easier (courtesy of a lullaby dinosaur that entertains and distracts).
Bathtime is a great way to keep him from crying, if only for 10 minutes.
He cries.  A lot.  Especially at night.  And also wants to eat constantly at night.
He is a good sleeper-waking only once at night to eat.
He doesn't like to be messed with during meals-he actually grunts and moves away from your touch.  He is all business.
Best of all:  He smiled at mommy for the first time today.  Then he did it two more times!

For Poppy:

Keagan's Poppy (aka Josh's dad) has been patiently awaiting a new blog with pics of his boy...he told me today that he checks daily for a new posting.  (I love my devoted followers, even if I have to use my kid to get people to read my blog!  haha!)  I have lots to blog about but not enough time right now, so until I have more time here are some pics of the boy!
