A Correction

My funny hubby has been reading my blog...and he informed me that I did not give credit where credit was due. That amazing ice cream that I spoke of in an earlier blog was brought home by him. As usual, I had been on the lookout for the newest flavor (Groom's Cake) after I heard it advertised on the radio. I enlisted him to search every Walgreen's that he worked at b/c this was going to be a bigger job than originally anticipated, and one day he surprised me and brought both yummy flavors home.

So, Josh, I am sorry for neglecting to acknowledge you and your superhero powers. You did a great job and made my sweet tooth happy!! (Now, keep your eyes peeled for the coconut M&M's or I promise I will buy the ginormous pack/lifetime supply at Sam's Club....Love you!)

A few of my favorite (limited edition) things...

If you know me, you know that I LOVE sweets. If you really know me, then you know that I cannot resist something that is sweet and says "Limited Edition" on the package. I have a nasty habit of purchasing large quantities of food items (some may call it stocking up) that I don't need when I stumble upon something that is of a shortened supply or truncated time period. Especially if that something has sugar in it. It is very sad, but if it is my worst habit then oh well! It creates a fun laugh amongst friends, and is a great conversation started when in a new crowd. So, it isn't all bad! Some of my most memorable limited edition foods have been: Banana Split Oreos (oh my), Raspberry M&M's, Edy's Slow Churned Sammoa Girl Scout Cookie IceCream (pretty sure this is still around b/c of me!), and Mint Three Musketeer's (again, this item has integrated into our culture b/c of me). I will search high and low to find the latest Limited Edition products if I catch wind of it. Right now I have caught on to 3 amazing new finds:

1) Blue Bell Ice Cream: Groom's Cake Flavor

OMG *yes, I said OMG* this is good. Here is what you will look for in your grocer's freezer section.

In case you are wondering, it is chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake pieces, and chocolate covered strawberry heart pieces, swirled together with chocolate icing and strawberry. Uh-may-zing.

2) Blue Bell Southern Blackberry Cobbler. 'Nough said. It is pretty dang good too, but a different good from the Grooms cake. (carton looks like the one above, but pink) It has a 4th of July kind of feel to it...makes me think of front porch, summer time, and American flags. Try it... I would love to know what images it conjures up in your mind.

3) Strawberried Peanut Butter M&M's. Yes, I said strawberried peanut butter. I don't know why I love them so much, if you think about it they sound funky. But they are very good. If your tastebuds aren't sensitive you will think they taste like peanut butter m&m's (i.e. like my husband). But if you are like me, you will discern the individual flavors, and you will enjoy.

These are my latest obsessions. I am still on the hunt for two particular items, Coconut M&M's and Raspberry Three Musketeers. If you see these in your local store, and you think of me, pick them up, and send them this direction! You will for sure make the blog...

Janine, meet Jerry.

This morning Stacey and I ran in the FunFitness 5K in Paducah, KY. I was really excited about this race b/c Jerry and Estella Hayes from the Biggest Loser were going to be there. If you will remember from the finale, Jerry was the "At-Home" biggest loser! This is pretty much my favorite show in the world, so I was absolutely beside myself to be meeting one of the WINNERS!!! Josh was excited, too, so he drove us girls up to Paducah. Unfortunately, the weather was miserable, raining cats and dogs along with crazy lightening and thunder. I was thinking they would call the race for safety, but they ended up just postponing it till the lightening let up. We started the race in the pouring rain...and at about the half-way point the lightening started back up. And bad. Stacey is scared to death of storms so I figured she'd be finito at this point! BUT she is a trooper and finished the race!! And in great time: 32 min something seconds. I was so proud! She said she ran a full 16 min before stopping to walk--WAY TO GO STACEY!! To top it off, she won a 1-hour Swedish massage door prize- uh yeaaahh! I was pretty excited too b/c I won 1st place in my age division (for women) with 25:29ish. And my highlight was getting multiple pics with Jerry and Estella (who are so so so nice) and talking with them for, like, 30+ minutes!! I learned the ins-and-outs of BL Ranch and who hooked up with who, who was nuts, and who's coming back to the Ranch for the 8th season! All the BL gossip. It was sooo fun and I was star-struck to say the least. Such a wonderful and friendly couple, and so incredibly deserving of the new lifestyle with which they have attained. Here are the pics from the morning--prepare yourself for the wet-dog look! Janine, Meet Jerry:

After Biggest Loser, and with their new friend (ME!)

Me and Stacey, before we melted in the storm!Josh was star-struck, too!
