"Baseball" - Spring 2016

Both boys were involved in baseball this Spring/Summer. The season overlapped some with soccer then just ended last week. It was a long season!! The boys each had 2 games a week, sometimes taking up 3 nights of our week! Keagan played coach-pitch ball and Finley played T-ball. Both boys were super thrilled and super interested at first...but only Keagan finished the season strong. It didn't take long for Finley to peter out. And before long we were hearing how he didn't like t-ball and he didn't want to play and he was tired (all in whiny voices). We did a lot of bribing with sno-cones, which were only $1 for ball players!

This picture of Keagan cracks me up. He obviously didn't have a game that night (usually both boys had games) and looks very prepared to cheer on his brother!

And now a few pictures of Keagan playing. Keagan played coach-pitch last season and showed an awesome improvement. The good thing about coach-pitch is if they can't hit it they get to use the tee. They get a bunch of chances. Last season Keagan had to use the tee a lot, this season only a few times. He also improved in his focus during the game, fielding the balls when he wasn't on first base (which was most of the season), and catching the ball when it was tossed to him. This year was a lot less parent-directed and a lot more coach-directed. We had the same coaches as last season and it was an awesome advancement of all the little boys (basically the same team as last time). I am very thankful for the coaches (for both boys) who take the time out of their lives to coach and direct these little boys. It is so good for them to take direction from someone other than their parents!

Keagan's friend Maeci came to one of his games and Keagan was super thrilled. After the game they gave each other a huge hug.

Sno-cones after ball games!! This became a ritual for most nights unless it was too late or this Momma had had enough of the heat and just needed to get her feet up! (I did have several parents ask me if I thought I would "make it" to the end of the season...and lucky for everyone, I didn't have a baby before the season ended last week.)
