On our last day in the hospital I tried to snap some pictures of our sweet Maclyn. The lighting stunk and my camera skills were sub-par and the nurse kept coming in. So I got what I could get, then put the camera down and waited and waited and waited to be discharged. My hospital stay was phenomenal and everyone was great, except when it came to discharge. We were ready to go and I could feel myself getting irritated with the nurse because she went over and over the same information that had been presented to us that morning in a discharge class. The just as we were about to "escape" they locked down the hospital! I heard the alarm and stuck my head out in the hall to see what was going on and was scolded and told to get back in my room! It was strange, and I just wanted to go home. I had been there since Thursday, it was now Sunday.
Ready to go!!!!!!
So teeny tiny in her carseat!
The boys and Aunt Hannah made Maclyn a welcome home sign! Sweetest thing ever!!
Mal Mal (our awesome sitter) came by to see the boys and get her hands on her newest baby! She had been on vacation all week and didn't get home until Saturday night so she was so anxious to meet Maclyn. The boys were thrilled to see her, too!
Finley had to get in some baby girl love once we came home. :)

blessings beyond measure
It didn't take long for the news of our sweet baby girl's arrival to spread and before we knew it we had our first visitors! Sweet Maclyn was just hours old and already so loved by our friends and family.
Paula, Molly Parker, and Rush
Amber and her sweet boys Nick and Nate (and Tuck...he didn't care too much about seeing the baby!)
Mom and Dad sent flowers, and they were gorgeous!
And then my first two blessings arrived to see their new baby sister! I had just gotten out of the shower and was feeling a little more alive, despite being awake for nearly 36 hours straight. It was so good to see my boys, and even better to see their reaction when they walked into my room and saw their baby! Their smiles are so genuine. I get teary-eyed reliving this moment. This is what life is about!
Finn had already decided that he was going to hold the baby first, and luckily Keagan was OK with that. Such a good big(ger) brother to momentarily step aside and allow his little brother to learn his new role as a big brother. Finley could not wait to get his hands on the baby!!
When Maclyn would start to wimper, Finn would immediately begin gently shushing her. It was so sweet, and she would respond by quieting down!
Big Keagan's turn!! SO in love!! That smile and pride he had for holding his new baby sister.
Lots and lots and lots of hugs and kisses were given to baby Maclyn by her big brothers.
Gamma and Poppy loving on their newest grandbaby
After the boys loved on their baby sister they got to open some Star Wars toys from the new baby and Mommy. They were just about as excited about their presents as they were the baby! And looking at this picture of me reminds me of what the boys (and other young visitors) asked me: When was I going to have the other baby that was still in my tummy. Haha! Luckily this innocent question didn't cause too much grief in the beginning. But I will say I heard it nearly every day from the boys for the first week! And that got a bit old...
Stacey and Annie
Chasity, Reagan, Abby, and Madysen (and Billy came too)...Maclyn shares a birthday with Madysen!
Birthday Buddies!
I captured a sweet dream-smile on camera!
Maclyn's second day of life! More visitors to love on our sweet girl. It turns out that Tim and Lindsy and their boys were in the region for a wedding on the same day Maclyn was born. We had planned to get together Saturday as they headed back home to North Carolina, but we hadn't solidified plans because at our last conversation I felt certain I would have had this baby by then. Well, I was right! So our visit occurred in the hospital and they were able to meet our youngest! It had been a long time since we had seen each other and the visit was so easy and picked up right where we left off, and I got to meet Micah who is their youngest! Lindsy gifted us with the cutest (and Maclyn's first) headband!!
I had a moment alone with my sweet baby daughter. She is so snuggly and I am so in love! Feeling on cloud-nine!
Dara and Darcy from our Sunday School class!
Family picture with Gamma and Poppy
Pretty sure the boys are in love...and will keep her!
Our first picture as a family of FIVE!!
Both boys were promoted: Keagan is the Bigger Brother and Finley is now a Big Brother! And the nurse gave them special bracelets to commemorate their promotions!
Poppy getting some eye-contact from Maclyn
Mom and Dad and Hannah finally arrived late that evening to meet Sweet Maclyn!
Such a wonderful day filled with many blessings upon blessings from friends and family. Not only did they come love on our new addition, but they showered Maclyn with lovely pink pretties and essentially stocked her closet!!
