And...Finally.

This will be my last Destin blog posting (thank goodness!). On our last day of our vacation we decided to take Keagan on a dolphin boat cruise. The weather left a little to be desired, but it didn't rain on us so we were thankful. The dolphin showing was incredible!! Honestly the best I have ever seen and this was our third or fourth time on this boat. And Keagan actually saw them and looked for them! It was a lot of fun!!

Going FAST! This face cracks me up! He wasn't scared or upset by the speed, I just think he didn't know what was going on! AND instead of facing into the wind, he turned his head to the side which made it worse!

Visiting with G&G

As I've mentioned in an earlier post, our family vacation coincided with my parents' family vacation...not only in the timing but also the location! How strange is it that we ended up in Destin at the same time?? (fyi, I live in a VERY different state from my parents...in fact it had been about 10 months since they had seen Keagan...just trying to put this coincidence into perspective for you!) So, obviously we planned a few things together so that Keagan and my parents could visit. We did s'mores one night and ate dinner with them another night at their campsite, met them at Dewey Destin's for dinner (which resulted in an hour and a half wait...but some cute pictures!), and hung out at the beach with them. He also enjoyed playing with my parents' friends' little boys who are age 8 and 4. Here are some pictures from our visits. Keagan was instantly drawn to my sister, which was pretty sweet! I think he enjoyed hanging out with his grandparents and Aunt Hannah!

Here, Fishy Fishy Fishy!

While Keagan was less than interested in the ocean (seriously, understatement of the year), he was all about the pool. It took a 10 minute warm-up period initially, and it was pretty ugly but we were determined that it would get better. And our persistence paid off. Keagan LOVED the pool! He went from swimming in our arms to swimming with a noodle, to swimming with a noodle and floaties, to swimming with just floaties and wanting NOTHING to do with mom and dad! In fact, he was jumping off the side of the pool. He would go under a little, come back up, and then ask to go again! It was great. He did great. I was a proud momma! And Josh was pretty impressed too. The best part of his swimming is it would plain wear him out! Check out the video of him nodding off at lunch. Keagan has never done this before and I was actually concerned about him at first, that something might be wrong with him! But then we would take him back down to the beach and he would nap. In fact we would all nap!

These pictures are in chronological order...and you can see the transition towards more independent swimming. I think Keagan would have tried swimming without floaties if we had let him. But this mommy just wasn't ready for him to grow up (or the heart-attacks).
