Fourth of July Shenanigans

Red. White. Blue. Sunshine. Boating. Fireworks. Friends. I thank God for our independence and ability to enjoy all that surrounds this holiday! There is absolutely nothing better than a full long weekend of July 4th festivities!

Waiting for Josh to come "home" from work (at the cabin) so we could kick off our 4th of July weekend!

He's Home!

Annual IC Club golf cart parade

Lady Liberty and a Firecracker

We won 3rd place! (I'm certain it is because of this sweet Statue of Liberty)

Owens and Moryl kids

a bunch of kids swimming out to the lake trampoline

Saturday night we went to Josh's Aunt Pat's house and, wouldn't you know, a small tornado came through and made a mess. Several boats had damaged Bimini tops and covers, but we got lucky to have no damage to our cabin or our boat. This big tree limb fell down right in front of our cabin.

Lots of storms over the weekend, we dodged thunderstorms and watched radar all weekend (all summer really)...but those clouds sure made for some gorgeous lake sunsets

Fireworks from the boat

check out that moon!

littlest girl just couldn't hang

Big kids went to Camp Currie for the week, so they missed the actual July 4th celebrations

teaching the girls to play checkers...likely to need a refresher next summer

Emery came to play with the girls at the lake since the big kids all went to Camp Currie

Dudes - grilling

heading out on the boat to watch more fireworks

she made it through the fireworks, but then fell asleep on the boat ride home

FOURTH OF JULY!

trying to get a good picture of the ladies...but we were under attack from flying objects

we got primo spot that day because we headed out super early! It was worth it!!

Grill Master Josh!

The BEST of friends right here

the whole awesome crew for our July 4th boat adventure

heading back before all the crazies do! unfortunately we all had to "adult" the next day

but before we went all the way back, we stopped by Camp Currie to see if we could spy on our big kids! didn't see them today...but don't think we didn't try!

sunshine and swimming will wear a girl out

luckily Maeci was there to provide a lap for Ivy to nap on!

home and cleaned up from the lake for another round of fireworks in our neighborhood...these girls were hilarious with a play camera!

a blanket on the golf course to watch the fireworks down the road from our house!

and that's a wrap!
