Happy Halloween Week! Every year it seems we have multiple events for Halloween and this year was no exception. We had trunk or treat at church, school Halloween parties, and then the good ol' fashioned trick-or-treating. I love this holiday and I think my kids are getting into the spirit too. Even the little one. This year Keagan was able to pick out his own costume, and he decided to be a dinosaur. Finn was a shark, kind of by default...the costume was a hand-me-down and we are playing on his nickname for one more shark-theme. Both boys loved to dress up and really enjoyed carrying around candy buckets. This year Keagan seemed to really get-it...and he enjoyed himself to the fullest. He and Josh kept trick-or-treating even after Finn couldn't go any further and I had to take him home and put him to bed. We have an over-abundance of candy. I am embarrassed to say, however, it likely won't last long!
Halloween started with me trying to take sweet Halloween pictures of the boys in their skeleton t-shirts. Trying is the operative word. I didn't get even one picture I liked out of the 200+ that I took. However, I got lots of hilarious pictures...and only tried for 5 minutes (not even kidding) before giving up and going inside. These boys were insanely busy...and I got tickled just looking back at these pictures. (seeing a common theme in my blog posts lately??) So, here are my silly Halloween boys...no telling what was going on around me, but I know one thing's for sure: they refused to look at me!
Finn and I went for a walk because the weather this week was so wonderful...and the trees are so beautiful and colorful! Finn enjoyed this giant leaf and "learned" about nature.
The boys first time wearing their costumes this year was for the church Trunk or Treat. Our church puts on a grand show for not only member's kids but also the community...there were a bunch of trunks decorated up for the kids to trick-or-treat from after a delicious chili supper, and then there was a fire truck and police truck the kids could sit in, and THEN a helicopter landed in the parking lot next to the church! It was so awesome and we all loved it! My favorite thing about it though is the fellowship. We have made such great friends and our kids already have made great friends! Before we left to church I snapped a few pictures of the never-still boys in their costumes.

Finley and Keagan both had Halloween parties at school. I asked the teachers if I could come take pictures and be a part of their parties, and they both were OK with that so I went....I didn't think about the fact that the parties were after nap time and the costumes would be long-gone by then! Oh well! here are some cute pictures of the boys chowing down on party food.
Actual trick-or-treating was not on Halloween this year because we had severe weather warnings and storms. So the city changed trick-or-treating to November 1. The weather was perfect and we had a great time! Finn had his first true Halloween experience and hung with us for 2 hours! I was pretty impressed. But in true Finn-fashion, at 730 he was ready for bed!
And now it is November! WHOA...time sure flies! And for some reason November and December really fly by...hard to believe it will be 2014 in the blink of an eye!
