Here we go...hold on tight. There are a BUNCH of Limited Edition Finds! In no particular order, I now introduce you to:
Fruit Punch Oreos
Most people I know thought these would be disgusting. I actually haven't heard of anyone who has tried them. Well, they didn't sound appealing to me, either. BUT because I have a problem (Houston!) they had to be tried. Oh, and, because our local Wal-Mart actually had them. That is rare. Listen, I despise Fruit Punch. It makes my stomach churn. Maybe because I remember barfing up fruit punch flavored gatorade on a plane ride. That's all I can think of when I think of Fruit Punch. ICK. BUT LISTEN! These Oreos are actually delicious. You know what else?!? They remind me of pink Starbursts....and who doesn't like pink starbursts!? I really like these. If you can get your fingers on them, get you some. YUMMY!
Watermelon Oreos
These were the hardest Oreos to find. I cannot remember when they came out, but I could not find them!!! Stacey was lovely enough to get them for me...and I actually tried them first at her house. I didn't know if I would like these or not, but I really like these. A Lot. They are so summery. I have always liked watermelon flavored foods. These cookies remind me of those Bonne Bell chapsticks that were perfectly flavored that I used to carry around as a little girl. I loved them, but I really wanted to eat them. And there was a watermelon-flavored one that I obsessed about. And these cookies remind me of that. I know it seems weird to compare cookies to chapstick, but if you remember those Bonne Bell chapsticks you know what I am talking about.
Chocolate Oreos
I am not sure if these are Limited Edition but they are pretty good! My friend Jessica send me a giant bag of Oreos and this was in there. (My friends sure know the way to my heart...haha!) I have never had these but I have about polished them off. And that is without sharing. They are pretty basic, nothing terribly special about them, but I am finding that I really like the taste of the golden cookie Oreos. Josh didn't think they were that amazing at all. But I know why: the cream is the thickness of that of a regular oreo. We are spoiled and like the double-stuff ones. In my opinion they all need to be double-stuff. :)
Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Oreos
Seriously?! These are simply incredible. And they are another package I found at my Wal-Mart (WHAT the WHAT!?!) They are decadent, they are rich. They are delicious. But why wouldn't they be? The combo of chocolate and peanut butter (Reese's at that) pretty much ensures that these cookies are going to be purchased again. I am going to have a very hard time sharing these. I will share with Josh. Maybe. He really does love this flavor combination. I feel certain he will love these. The children, on the other hand, will likely not be trying these. Because that is the kind of mommy that I am. I apologize, kids...but when you can appreciate this stuff I might share. Until then, I will not waste this Limited Edition goodness on children whose taste buds are not so discerning. And I cannot stomach the thought of you wasting one of these.
Berry Oreos
I am not certain that these are for sure Limited Edition. But they made their way into my stash. And I had never tried them before. They are very good. I love raspberry. I love chocolate. The combo of the two is very good. There is strawberry on the package, but I really didn't taste the strawberry. I definitely tasted the raspberry. As much as I enjoyed these, though, I will likely not try these again because they are not limited edition and they are not to-die-for.
My sweet taste-test helper. He loves a good cookie!!
Limeade Oreos
Josh and I heard about these while we were on our way to New Orleans in June. I told Jessica immediately (like, seriously, immediately)...and she found them for me rather quickly!!! And this was also in my Oreo goody bag. My sister-in-law also found these for me! I am lucky enough to have people in "big" cities who have the hookup and can get me my fix. Listen, people. These are great! They are like a Sprite cookie, minus the carbonation. They remind me of those old-fashioned lemon cooler cookies, the ones with powdered sugar. I really, really like these. They are up there just about as delicious as the Lemon Oreos. I don't know if these will be shared, either...and I feel certain my loving husband will turn his nose up at these because they are different.
Banana Split Oreos
I had super high hopes for these. Partly because Jess says they are one of her favorites, and as much as she loves to try the limited edition flavors, she doesn't love them all. But she says she loves these. These were another package in my Oreo goody bag. I couldn't wait to get these in my mouth. Maybe it is because these were my last oreo I tried (should I have been rinsing my mouth like when you go wine tasting?) or maybe because I was super full, but I really didn't love these. I was super excited when I opened them because I could smell the banana immediately, and I like banana flavored candies and goodies. But I don't really like a banana split, and these tasted just like that. Don't worry though, I will try them again, and I am sure to eat the entire package. Waste-not, want-not.
Switching gears now...
Birthday Cake m&m's
These are really pretty good. They are rather large in size, which surprised me for some reason. Simply, they taste like cake...and who doesn't like cake?!! I feel like the colors could be more fun, they are primary colors of red, yellow, and blue only. I know that's nit-picky, but I feel like the colors should be different. Maybe pink, yellow, turquoise, purple..?? But these are good...and I am noticing these all over, so maybe they aren't limited edition anymore?
Carrot Cake m&m's
One word: Ick. I had super high hopes. And I love carrot cake so I felt certain that these would deliver. I am thankful I only bought one package. I just tried them, even though they are from Easter, and immediately turned the bag around and realized they are white chocolate. I don't know what else it would be, or why I expected anything else, but I don't like anything white chocolate that m&m's makes. It's me, not you. But your colors are gorgeous.
Last but not least.
Lays Cappuccino Potato Chips
Yep. I bought these. I saw them first on the Internet, and then I realized that I had to try them. Guys. They are disgusting, just as you would think they would be. The flavor bores me, they don't taste like a chip and they don't really taste like cappuccino. They are just "there" and don't thrill me. I fully expected to spit them out. In fact, I was kind of scared to try them (why are people scared to try different foods?!!)...but they really didn't do anything for me. Now, Finley kept asking for more, so maybe it wasn't a complete waste of $3, but I will likely throw the bag away. (side note: I have tried the cheeseburger chips and the mango salsa chips that Lays has out now and I really like those...)
Are you hungry now? :) Maybe I stifled your appetite by ending with the cappuccino chips...if so, then I meant to do that.
(a big thank you to my dear friends who constantly keep my limited edition fix supplied!! you all ROCK!)
